Empowering Community with Habitat for Humanity Projects

August 4, 2025

PV Squared Solar, a local worker-owned cooperative, is humbled and proud to help dedicate the latest Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity home to its new family right in their hometown of Greenfield, MA.

This inspiring project reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to building stronger, more sustainable communities in Western Massachusetts. The PV Squared team contributed its time, expertise, and resources: supporting solar installation, participating in ceremonies, and assisting on-site, to help create an energy-efficient home for local neighbors in need.

This effort came to life through the collaboration of Greenfield Cooperative Bank, Austin Design Cooperative, the City of Greenfield, the Greenfield Community Preservation Act (CPA), and many other dedicated community partners and volunteers. Together, these partnerships turned shared values into real, lasting impact for our community.

Being a worker-owned cooperative means our success is deeply connected to the wellbeing of our community…partnering with Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity is a natural extension of our values, and we’re proud to contribute to a project that supports both people and the planet.” said Brittany Hathaway, Marketing & Outreach Specialist at PV Squared.

This project underscores the powerful intersection of renewable energy, local collaboration, and community service, as PV Squared continues its mission to make solar accessible while fostering resilience across the region.

We extend heartfelt congratulations to the new homeowners, and deep thanks to every partner who helped make this vision a reality. Together, we’ve created not just housing, but a model for how to build vibrant, resilient neighborhoods: powered by community!
