PV Squared’s Jon Child Invited to Massachusetts State House Solar Summit

September 30, 2025

PV Squared Solar is proud to announce that founding member, worker-owner, and Design & Sales Specialist Jon Child was invited to participate in the Massachusetts State House’s Solar Summit on September 29, 2025. This invitation-only convening, hosted by Governor Maura Healey and top energy leaders, brought together a select group of solar industry experts, utilities, labor leaders, and policymakers to discuss the future of solar in the Commonwealth.

The Summit addressed critical issues including permitting reform, net metering, incentive programs, interconnection challenges, and pathways to ensure equitable access to solar power across Massachusetts. Governor Healey, Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Rebecca Tepper, Undersecretary Mike Judge, and Commissioner Elizabeth Mahony all participated in the day’s program.

Jon Child represented PV Squared, a worker-owned cooperative solar design-build firm with over two decades of experience. Founded in 2002 in Greenfield, PV Squared has grown into a nationally recognized leader in residential, commercial, and research-based solar projects, while remaining deeply rooted in Western Massachusetts.

“PV Squared Solar is proud to join Governor Healey and Massachusetts leaders to advance a solar future that’s affordable, reliable, and community-owned. As a worker-owned cooperative, we see every project as local jobs, lower bills, and cleaner air; proof that climate action and economic resilience go hand in hand…”

“With over 20 years of expertise in residential and commercial solar, as well as research partnerships, we help align permitting, interconnection, and incentives with on-the-ground realities so all Massachusetts residents can access clean, affordable power, and are thrilled to lend our voice and experience to the Commonwealth,” said Child.

This recognition underscores PV Squared’s reputation as a trusted solar partner not only for the Pioneer Valley and Western Massachusetts but also across the state. As one of the longest-standing solar companies in Massachusetts, and the only worker-owned cooperative of its kind in the region, PV Squared continues to play a key role in shaping the Commonwealth’s clean energy transition.
