Your Energy Use May Have Changed Too

Many homes and businesses use more electricity over time than they did when their solar systems were first installed.

Heat pumps, electric vehicles, home additions, and changing usage patterns can all affect your offset.

If your system is no longer covering as much of your electricity usage as expected, it may be worth exploring:

• A system expansion
• Additional panels
• Battery storage
• Updated net metering opportunities

Massachusetts has recently expanded certain net metering caps, creating new opportunities for some customers to increase system size.

Don’t Forget About Incentives

As older solar systems age out of the Massachusetts SREC program, they may become eligible for Class I Renewable Energy Credits (RECs).
