“Stinky” and Solarized at the 27th Annual North Quabbin Garlic & Arts Festival

September 23, 2025

Greenfield, MA – PV Squared Solar, a local worker-owned cooperative and B-Corp certified leader in solar design, installation, and maintenance, is thrilled to provide clean, on-site solar energy for the main performance stage at this year’s 27th Annual North Quabbin Garlic & Arts Festival, happening September 27–28, 2025 in Orange, MA.

Known as the “Festival that Stinks,” the beloved community celebration draws thousands of visitors to a historic farm each fall for a weekend of art, music, farm-fresh food, and sustainability inspiration. Three lively stages showcase music, performance, and spoken word, while more than 100 exhibitors offer local art, healing arts, and garlic-infused cuisine.

This year, the festival’s main stage will be powered entirely by PV Squared’s mobile solar trailer, delivering immediate, reliable clean energy to performers and audiences alike, proving that great music and renewable energy are a perfect match.

“PV Squared is honored to help the Garlic & Arts Festival walk its talk on sustainability,” said Brittany Hathaway, Marketing & Outreach Specialist and worker-owner at PV Squared. “Our solar trailer embodies our cooperative’s mission to energize a brighter future for people and planet, while supporting the creativity and resilience of our local communities.”

Shared Values: Community, Sustainability, and Local Resilience

PV Squared’s participation reflects a natural alignment of values with the Garlic & Arts Festival. The festival is celebrated for its nearly zero-waste practices, producing only two bags of trash for 8,000 attendees, its emphasis on local living workshops, and its welcoming, family-friendly spirit.

As a cooperative founded in 2002 and owned by the people who work there, PV Squared champions the same principles of community empowerment, ecological stewardship, and local economic vitality that have made the Garlic & Arts Festival a regional treasure.
