May 8, 2024

Solar power is not just a smart investment in the future of your home or business. It is an important investment in the sustainability of our planet. When you choose to “go solar”, whom you choose to partner with will make a huge difference. Consider these questions…

  1. Is the Organization a local, home-grown Company?
    • PV Squared Solar (Pioneer Valley PhotoVoltaics, Inc.) was founded as a worker owned cooperative in Greenfield, MA in 2002. We do residential and commercial solar in Western MA and Southern VT and know how to work with each utility in these states.
  1. Does the Company conduct a proper solar assessment before asking for money?
    • PV Squared does NOT ask our clients to spend money or sign contracts before we have been on site to conduct a proper solar assessment; measures each roof, takes shade readings, and has a discussion about your current and future electric usage. This meticulous attention to detail ensures the project not only meets but exceeds your expectations, delivering long-term value and sustainability.
  1. Is the Company licensed and recognized by local Organizations?
    • Our MA State Electrical Contractor License number is MA# 3877 A1, and our Home Improvement Contractor License Number is MA# 140077. We are a certified “Best for Workers” B Corp, have the privilege of being a long-standing Amicus Solar Cooperative member, and are consistently voted #1 in the Valley Advocate “Best Of” awards.
  1. Will an Electrician oversee my project?
    • Every crew has a licensed electrician. Even better, PV Squared has its own Electrical Apprenticeship program to train the next generation of solar electricians.
  1. Will the Company take care of the Permitting Process? How do I know it will be done properly?
    • PV Squared takes care of the entire permitting process for your project. Our dedicated Permitting Specialists and Project Managers know all of the requirements for each utility. The best part is, you’ll receive live updates on your project status.
  1. Will the Company be there to take care of my system if something goes wrong?
    • When you partner with PV Squared for solar energy, you have a partner for the life of your array! We have a dedicated Service & Maintenance Team for when the unexpected happens. All service requests have their own team of experts for specialized attention.
  1. Does the Company provide resources for me to understand my project after installation?
    • After your project is Authorized To Operate “ATO”, we will send you a personalized Owner’s Manual with everything you need to know about your system. If anything ever needs attention, our Service & Maintenance Team is always here for you.
